Blood Moon on April 15
Midnight fog

like a cataract
grows thick
on a blood red
eye floating
in a vitreous
sea of black

Halfway through NaPoWriMo today and, rather than the optional prompt, I just had to write about the lunar eclipse that graced our sky last night, coincidentally, on tax day. The Cosmic Comedian has no boundaries. Sorry about the fuzzy photo; it really was terribly foggy over our little bay in the Pacific Northwest.
A haunting lovely piece.
